Wool ball game

This was a workshop facilitated by Senem in Aghdzq, 2014

This game is a funny warm-up exercise for a group who meets for the first time. It also symbolizes that we are all connected, although we might not know each other so well.

Level 1: The group sits on the ground in a circle. The facilitator who also sits in the circle holds one end of the wool ball, then throws the ball to someone in the circle while saying her own name. The person who gets the ball holds her end of the thread and then throws the ball to another person in the circle while saying her own name. This game continues until everyone in the group has had the opportunity to get the ball and hold a part of the wool with their fingers. In the end, a network of the thread is formed within the people in the circle and everyone has introduced their names.

Level 2: The group sits on the ground in a circle. The facilitator who also sits in the circle holds one end of the wool ball, then throws the ball to a person in the circle while saying the person’s name to whom she throws the ball.

In the end, again a network of the thread is formed within the people in the circle and everyone has expressed another person’s name in the group.
