This was an exercise facilitated by Senem in Aghdzq in 2014.
Everyone sits in a circle and casts their gaze down toward the center. The facilitator chooses two people to come to the center. The others who are sitting stay sitting with their gazes cast down, not looking directly at the two participants in the center.
Then the facilitator instructs one of the participants in the middle to lead with their palm and for the other participant to follow the leader’s palm, moving in the direction that the leader’s palm moves.
After a few minutes the facilitator gestures for the two participants in the middle to switch roles, so the one who was following becomes the leader and the other one follows. The facilitator gestures for the end of this duet and the two participants sit back down, while two others are called forward into the center to move.
